Fire
The Fire Branch responds to fires, vehicle accidents, fire alarms, small fuel leaks, carbon monoxide alarms, earthquakes, aircraft emergencies, building collapses, hazardous materials incidents, technical rescues, explosions, terrorist attacks, etc. The Fire Marshal serves as the training officer for the Fire Branch. We also have a Junior Firefighter (JFF) program for youth ages 15-18 years old.
Volunteer Response
Pre-requisite: No prior knowledge, skill, or ability required.
Training Officer: Ryan Welde
Training (Drill): Second, third, and fourth Thursdays of every month from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. Additional training may be available throughout the year and/or upon request.
Emergency Response: Carry a pager and respond if you are available.
In addition to the training offered, the Association and Department have meetings on the First Thursday of every month at 7:00P.M. at Station 1. We ask that you attend the meetings. Dinner is provided at 6:00P.M. (location to be determined) if you want to eat with the group.
We understand that life is busy (family, work, school, volunteering, etc) and your time is limited. Maybe your job requires you to be away from town frequently and/or for long periods of time. Maybe your boss will not allow you to leave work. Do not let your busy schedule deter you from becoming a volunteering with PVFD. We currently have members from all walks of life: fishermen, Forest Service employees, self-employed business owners, hospital employees, small business employees, retired persons, etc. We just ask that you participate when you can.
